  • Maha Rudram 2024  

    Aug 30,31st, and Sep 1st.

    Portland Balaji Temple (HECSA) welcomes all the Ritwiks to the Maha Rudram 2024 Event on Aug 30 - Sep 1.

    Here is the program outline of the events. More details will be shared soon.


    Aug 30: Lalitha Sahasranama Paraynam and archana.

    Aug 31: Maha Rudra parayanam and abhisekam.

    Sep 1: Rudra Homam and Suvasini Puja.

    This is the very first Maha Rudram in our town and such great event can't happen without volunteers and support from the community.

    Please register at the earliest to volunteer for this event so that we can reach out to you and include you in some of the critical meetings on the planning and logistics of this event.

    Volunteers will be required to attend the in-person meetings to understand the scope of support needed for this event. We will send communication on the meeting day/time.

    Ankita is a 10th grader at Westview High School in Portland, Oregon. She began learning Bharatnatyam from Smt. Jayanthi Raman and continues her training under guru Smt. Kalamandalam Shivya Raveendran at the Natyaveda School of Dance. In addition to dance, Ankita studies Carnatic vocal, Mridangam, and piano, and she has performed at various concerts in Portland. Beyond the arts, Ankita is an active member of her school's Speech and Debate team, DECA, and soccer team. She is passionate about volunteering and serves as the Youth Ambassador for the Akshaya Patra Portland chapter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
